Veřovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Veřovice is located on the upper course of the Jičínka River. The cadastral area of the municipality includes Velký Javorník, Dlouhá and Krátká. On the slope of Velký Javorník in the Hodslavický Javorník range lies Velký kámen, approximately 2 km southeast of Veřovice.

Nature

Velký kámen is a rock wall with outcrops of flysch rocks from the Outer Western Carpathians. The rock formation also features a valuable geomorphological formation and a near-natural forest fragment with high biodiversity.

Hiking and Trails

The Veřovické vrchy educational trail has 13 stations, is 21 km long and has an elevation gain of 600 metres. It is suitable for hiking and can also be used for cross-country skiing in winter.

The route from Veřovice to Velký Javorník follows a cycle path that can also be used with a pram.

Culture

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1854 on the site of a wooden church dating from 1784. It is located at Veřovice 143, 742 73 Veřovice, and is 45 metres long, 50 metres including the sacristy, 17.5 metres wide and 35 metres high.

Railway Lines

The Kojetín–Ostrava railway line, which runs through Veřovice, was built in 1888. The Veřovice–Studénka connecting railway branches off in Veřovice; it dates from 1896.

Pre-Christmas Market

At the 2024 pre-Christmas market in Veřovice, gingerbread, wreaths, candles, pretzels, baked teas, marzipan treats, dried apples and pumpkin, as well as Christmas biscuits and other original goods, were offered.
