Rychvald: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rychvald Castle is a four-winged, two-storey Renaissance château built by Bernard Barský z Baště between 1575 and 1577. It is protected as a cultural monument, and historic building elements have been preserved. The tour includes a courtyard with historic arcades, vaulted cellars, a chapel, and two kitchens, one black and one white. Visitors can also see the gentlemen’s and ladies’ salons, a gallery, a children’s room, a bedroom, and the main dining hall. Individual tours of Rychvald Castle are currently available for groups of four or more by prior arrangement.

Culture

The Church of St. Anne is a valuable sacred building and documents the continuation of Late Gothic forms in regional architecture until the end of the 16th century. The single-nave building has a polygonal chancel and a projecting square tower. The church has been protected as a cultural monument since 3 May 1958. Husův sbor stands in the village square and is also open for social and cultural gatherings.

Nature

The Skučák Nature Reserve protects a pond ecosystem and adjacent wetlands containing significant plant and animal species. Several pairs of great crested grebes (Podiceps cristatus) as well as various duck species can be observed at Skučák, including the garganey (Anas crecca), the garganey (Anas querquedula) and the northern shoveler (Anas clypeata).

Things to Do

Cycle Route M connects Michálkovice and Rychvald. In 2024, the Rychvaldské rybí slavnosti were held for the 24th time as a traditional festival. The Rychvaldské rybí slavnosti 2024 featured an all-day programme for children and adults.
