Orlová is home to the twin-towered Neo-Gothic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. It is Orlová’s most significant architectural and cultural monument and replaced the earlier building dating from 1466 in 1905.

The Zámecký park was created in 1765 as part of Orlovský zámek. Since 1965, it has been listed as a protected cultural monument in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic. The park is used for recreation and exploration.

Getting around

The Zapomenutá Orlová educational trail leads through the historic part of Orlová and includes twelve information panels. They commemorate places or objects that were so severely affected by coal mining that they had to be demolished. As a circular route, Zapomenutá Orlová is approximately six kilometres long and takes about two hours on easy terrain.

Kończyce Małe - Zamek XV w. is a castle in the vicinity of Orlová. Wodzisław Śląski - Ruiny Baszty is a castle in the wider region surrounding Orlová. Rzuchow - Zameczek is also a castle in the wider region surrounding Orlová. Czernica - Dworek is another castle there.

Culinary events

At the Gulášfest, paying visitors were able to vote for the best goulash in the competition. Food and drink stalls were available throughout the day.

The Festival jídla a kávy included a cooking demonstration by Michal Buček featuring Hell’s Chilli Fajitas. The programme also included activities for children with mascots, attractions and an entertainment zone.
