In Kopřivnice, the Tatra Truck Museum has more than 80 trucks, engines and other exhibits, including expedition, military and fire engine models.

Technology

The Tatra Passenger Car Museum is located at Záhumenní 367/1 in Kopřivnice. In front of the Tatra Truck Museum, the unique Slovenská strela can be seen in a dedicated exhibition. The exhibition about Emil Zátopek and his wife Dana Zátopková combines their sporting achievements and personal story with authentic materials, interactive elements and audiovisual recordings. The Oldtimer Museum is a collection of historic cars and motorcycles. In June 2026, the Slovenská strela depot area could be visited free of charge during the museum’s opening hours after the guided tours with an admission ticket to the Tatra Museum Kopřivnice.

Culture and History

The Muzeum Fojtství is located in the oldest surviving building in Kopřivnice. It displays original carriages and sledges, examples of traditional crafts, everyday life in the Lachian countryside, and archaeological finds from the nearby Šostýn castle ruins. The ruins of Šostýn Castle preserve original walls and rooms reminiscent of the castle’s cellar chambers.

The annual Běh rodným krajem Emila Zátopka race has been held since 2003 and starts in Kopřivnice.

Getting Around

The Lašská naučná stezka educational trail officially begins and ends at Kopřivnice railway station. The Lašská naučná stezka runs along forest and field paths through Kopřivnice and Štramberk. Depending on visitors’ physical condition, some sections and stations of the educational trail are accessible with a stroller or bicycle.
