Kateřinice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Trnávka stream flows through the Kateřinice valley. Several paths lead up Kamenný Hill, from where there are views over the Beskids. The hill also offers one of the most beautiful walks with views of the surrounding landscape.

Water and Leisure

The Kateřinice reservoir now serves as a recreational area with opportunities for fishing and swimming, as well as a natural swimming spot. It is used for recreational sports and fishing year-round.

History

The original water castle in Kateřinice was converted into a Baroque chateau shortly after 1698 under Maxmilián and Václav Harasovský. Late Gothic stone-vaulted cellars and an old stone well have survived from the original water castle. The well has a diameter of 1.2 metres and is 7 metres deep.

The former chateau in Kateřinice now serves as a family home and is privately owned.

Cycling Routes and Events

Cycling Route No. 6134 runs through Kateřinice, leading from Příbor to Stará Ves nad Ondřejnicí, and is 12 km long. The Greenways Kraków–Moravia–Vienna cycling route also passes through Kateřinice; it is part of the Castles and Nature of Poodří circuit. The Kravařsko circuit also runs through Kateřinice.

The local Krmáš, also known as Posvícení, is regularly celebrated on the first Sunday after All Souls’ Day and is usually accompanied by a dance event. One of the popular and frequently attended events in Kateřinice is the trail run.
