Trails and Nature

A green-marked route leads from Mořkov via Hušťýn to Zašová. Hušťýn includes a valuable geomorphological frost cliff formed from Godula strata, as well as an adjacent natural forest stand with rare and endangered plant and animal species. The Valašsko cycle route passes through Mořkov and connects to further routes.

Getting There

Mořkov can be reached via State Road II/483 and via the Ostrava–Kojetín railway line running along the southern edge of the town.

Local Life

The Pochod Okolo Mořkova takes place every year at the beginning of May. Refreshments such as Mořkovské koláče, goulash, smoked sausage, cabbage soup, kettle-cooked meat soup and sweets are available at the event. The Mořkovská pouť pilgrimage festival traditionally takes place in Mořkov in April. In autumn, Mořkov hosts the O mořkovský koláč event.

Culture

In Mořkov, visitors can see the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows and the Red Army Monument. The main altar of the Kostel svatého Jiří church dates from 1667.

Activities

The U Juráška riding club on the outskirts of Mořkov offers recreational horse riding, horse rental and horseback rides.
