Starý Jičín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Starojický kopec is a distinctive landscape landmark with the remains of one of Moravia’s oldest noble castles. The mountains Oprchlice, Trojačka and Kamenárka lie in the vicinity of Starý Jičín; Mount Kyčera is located in the wider regional area.

Cycle paths

Long-distance cycle route No. 5, “Jantarová stezka”, passes through Starý Jičín’s square. Cycle route No. 502 starts here and leads to Hukvaldy. Cycle route No. 503 also runs from Starý Jičín to Krnov. It is easy, moderately difficult in places, runs along Class II and III roads as well as local and purpose-built paths, has asphalt or paved surfaces, and is suitable for all types of bicycles.

Culture and town centre

The square in the centre of Starý Jičín is home to the municipal office with town hall and an information centre. The parish church of Saint Wenceslas, with a remodelled Renaissance tower, also stands there. The Jiřinka social cooperative operates the Village Museum. It displays numerous objects used by previous generations; visitors can try out some of them themselves.

Starý Jičín has road transport only.
