Provodín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Provodín lies at the southwestern foot of the Provodínské kameny. The nature reserve protects a basalt rock exposed by erosion, which forms a distinctive landscape landmark. The area of the nature reserve has been under special protection since 4 July 1956.

Nature

The Provodínské kameny are a group of seven peaks consisting of basalt and phonolite. At 419 m, Lysá skála is the highest peak in this group. The summit of Lysá skála offers views of the surrounding landscape.

A green trail runs from Provodín towards Horní Provodín and then to a junction leading directly to Lysá skála. The Provodínská Štrapanda is also part of the local hiking tradition: its history began at the start of 1975 with the idea of local long-distance hiking enthusiasts to organise their own event. The programme of the 2026 Provodínská Štrapanda included routes of 10, 17 and 28 km for walkers.

History

The first written mention of Provodín dates from 1376. When the Bakov nad Jizerou–Česká Lípa railway line began operating in 1867, a railway station was established in Provodín and named Jestřebí. The more recent history of the village also includes the company Engel and Co., which was still mining glass sand in Provodín in the 1930s.
