Nový Oldřichov: Apartments and Holiday Homes
Nový Oldřichov lies in a high-altitude valley through which the Bystrá stream flows. The village is located on the border between the České středohoří and the Lužické hory; both areas are also protected landscape areas of the same name.
Landscape
The mountains of Malý Buk, Dobrná and Klič lie in the immediate vicinity of Nový Oldřichov. Mount Špičák is located near the village. The wider regional area also includes the Postelwitzer Höhe viewpoint.
Cycling and Trails
Novoborsko and the Varhany Cycle Path are mentioned as destinations for tourists and cyclists. The Varhany Cycle Path is a 17-kilometre route for pedestrians and cyclists, separated from motor traffic. Its alignment and elevation profile follow the course of a disused railway line.
Culture
Nový Oldřichov is home to the Baroque sandstone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, which has been protected as a cultural monument since 2000. The branch church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross in Mistrovice dates from 1844. The single-nave building is designed in the Classical style and has a tower on the west façade.
The Hasičské muzeum Firefighting Museum was founded in 1989 by local firefighters. Its oldest exhibit is a wooden fire engine dating from 1764.
The wider regional area around Nový Oldřichov includes the historic site of Hirniskretzschen, the ruins of Starý Berštejn and the Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity.
