Brniště: Holiday Apartments and Houses

The Glass Trail leads in Brniště to the Schröter Chapel on the hill above the town and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. It features works by Bořek Šípek, Jiří Pačinek, and Czech and German children.

Trails and Discoveries

The Hastrmanů Trail introduces visitors to the local nature and life around ponds and streams. It includes nine thematic stations with original play elements, a water playground, and opportunities to observe waterfowl. The route is approximately 6 kilometres long and can also be walked with a pushchair.

The Sculptures in the Rocks Trail includes a rest area next to a chapel rediscovered in 1863. The trail is 1.2 kilometres long.

The Trail Through the Living Forest, also known as Lesopark Brniště, is a 0.6-kilometre educational trail near Brniště railway station and opened in July 2020. Six educational and playful stations focus on life in the forest and forest animals.

In 2023, train connections from Brniště railway station served Liberec, Mimoň, and Česká Lípa.

Culture and History

The first official mention of the Church of Saint Nicholas in Brniště dates from 1384. The church probably already stood there in 1359. The Church of Saint Nicholas, together with the former fortified site, includes an old cemetery with preserved gravestones, an enclosing wall with a gate, and a mortuary.

Nature

A sandstone sculpture of the water sprite “Vráťa I. a Jediný” stands at the centrally located Vratislav Pond. The pond is a habitat for a diverse range of aquatic plants, aquatic animals, and insects.
