Volfartice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Volfartice can be discovered through tangible traces of its landscape and history: the Libchava stream flows through the village, and at 560 m above sea level, Radečský kopec is the highest point in the surrounding terrain.

Culture and Local History

The Church of St. Peter and Paul is a single-nave building with a later-added four-sided bell tower and a rectangular ground-level sacristy. It stands on the site of a former cemetery surrounded by a wall. Next to the church is a well-maintained Marian pilgrimage site.

Northwest of the Church of St. Peter and Paul, a Renaissance fortress stands on a hill. It was probably built around 1540. Volfartice Fortress was a manor house until 1663.

A special part of the village’s history is the “Hera” ceramics factory in Volfartice. It produced ceramic tableware for the household and kitchen. Its range included, among other things, brown pots and jugs, flowerpots, casseroles with lids, white-inside jugs and chamber pots, as well as baking and pudding molds. The local museum houses several molds for the so-called Volfartice ceramics.

A preserved building also reflects the village’s older architectural history: Volfartice 68 is a storey building constructed predominantly from timber in the first half of the 19th century, with a gable decorated with slate.

Routes and Transport

Volfartice Castle is located about 350 meters from a yellow-marked hiking trail and cycle route No. 3056. Since June 24, 2026, bus route 462 has operated on the Česká Lípa – Volfartice – Kamenický Šenov – Česká Kamenice – Česká Lípa route.
