Farská louka lies next to the church in the centre of Slunečná, in the eastern part of the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. Every year after the snow melts, the naturalised white-flowered crocus blooms at Farská louka; it is also home to large and stable populations of the common toad, common frog and slow worm.

Culture

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Slunečná was built between 1846 and 1850 from a bequest by the glass merchant Johann Georg Jirschik and consecrated on 15 August 1850. The vicarage built next to the church in 1880 was administered by the Order of Malta.

Experiences

The Hoineff Glass Art glass workshop in Slunečná focuses primarily on original glass art created using unique and technically demanding processes. During a visit, guests can observe the fusing technique at close range and discover how glass sculptures are made. Visitors are offered home-roasted coffee while Hoineff tells them his story.

Activities

The Výroční stezka, Stage II: Češka–Slunečná–Žandov, is a 14-kilometre, moderately difficult hiking route.

Geographical setting

The mountains of Špičák, Kozel, Klič and Malý Buk lie in the vicinity of Slunečná. In the wider region around Slunečná are the Starý Berštejn ruins, the historic site of Hirniskretzschen, the Postelwitzer Höhe viewpoint and the Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity.
