Prysk: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Prysk lies in a narrow valley of the Pryský potok stream, enclosed by the steep slopes of the surrounding mountains. At the same time, the town is part of the Lužické hory Protected Landscape Area.

Landscape

An approximately eight-kilometre circular hiking trail runs around Prysk. There is also a quarry nearby, which is now home to the Skalní divadlo rock theatre. Another notable destination is Riedelova jeskyně, an extensive artificially created underground space. Its entrance is located on the southeastern slope of Břidličný vrch, directly above the northern edge of Dolní Prysk.

Trails and Glass

The Meixnerova pohybová stezka is 2.5 kilometres long, begins at the municipal office and ends in the centre of Horní Prysk. It includes wooden signposts by Petr Jelínek, a wooden footbridge, climbing areas and information boards. The Meixnerova stezka follows former glassblowers’ paths and is decorated with colourful glass fragments and glass sand. The area around Prysk offers cycle routes both for families with children and for cyclists looking for more challenging terrain.

Culture and History

The Kostel svatého Petra a Pavla church is an important monument in Prysk. The Baroque building was constructed from 1718 to 1721 on the site of an older church, based on designs by, or under the direction of, the master builder Petr Pavel Columbani. Four historic residential buildings in Prysk are listed in the registers of the Czech heritage authority. Traditional glassmaking shapes Prysk’s local character, and the summer event series “Léto s Pryskem” takes place every year.
