Kravaře V Čechách: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Kravaře combines a distinctive townscape with a varied route through the surrounding area: The 5.4-kilometre Liščí stezka trail leads through the area around Kravaře in Bohemia and Rané. It is marked along its entire length and divided into several sections. These sections are suitable for pedestrians, cyclists and people with pushchairs.

Out and about

The Liščí stezka includes eight listed stations. These include animal figures, a corridor for feeding birds with a heron, and a station featuring the Water Goblin. The route runs partly through the village heritage zone of Rané and touches the village heritage zone of Janovice. In this way, its course connects different elements of the surrounding area without losing the character of a marked trail.

Townscape and history

Kravaře has a remarkable triangular market square. Also preserved are interconnected rear stone walls of barns and farm buildings, forming a rare surviving urban fortification. Documents from the 13th century describe Kravaře as a market centre and market town with market rights; written records of Kravaře date back to the years 1175 to 1178. Since 1995, the town has been protected as a village heritage zone.

Culture

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Kravaře is originally Gothic and is documented as early as 1384. Its present appearance was shaped by Baroque alterations carried out between 1744 and 1749. Another distinctive feature is the Maria-Hilf cemetery chapel: at its northern corner, it has a stone outdoor pulpit.

The Vísecká rychta houses an exhibition on folk architecture and life in Northern Bohemia. On the ground floor, the exhibition presents the rural way of life and economy of the early 19th century, including the bailiff's room, a retirement room and a black kitchen with a stove. The exhibition on the upper floor covers traditional forms of livelihood in the Česká Lípa area, including hop cultivation, grain farming, livestock breeding, spinning, weaving and carpentry. The Vísecká rychta can be visited with a guide or independently without a guide.

Leisure

Koupaliště Kravaře has changing rooms, toilets and showers, as well as facilities for volleyball and nohejbal. Other amenities include climbing equipment for children, table tennis, basketball hoops, a trampoline, darts, billiards and refreshments.
