Culture and History

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Polevsko is a High Baroque building based on plans by Petr Pavel Columbani. It was built in 1717–1718 and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

Towards the end of the 17th century, Polevsko was one of the early centers of the glass trade; Czech glass was exported abroad by anonymous merchants or glassworks masters. The glassmakers of Polevsko had already received guild privileges in 1683. The property at Polevsko No. 175 is considered to be the site of the Klarahütte glassworks and is associated with Karl Mühlbauer, Franz Vater, and Sklářské družstvo Rudihuť.

In the center of Polevsko, there is also a cohesive ensemble of two-story log houses serving as evidence of the local folk architecture.
