Chotovice near Nový Bor: Holiday apartments and houses

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is located in Chotovice. This listed monument was built in 1776 and added to the heritage register in 1965.

History

The history of the village is also connected with the spa. The spa in Chotovice operated until 1945. It used a mineral spring containing iron and peat extracted near Červený rybník (Red Pond) by Pihel. In the cadastral area of Chotovice, two glass-polishing mills were also operating on the Chotovický potok at the end of the 19th century.

Chotovice is also associated with Dr. Franz Hantschel, a physician and local historian who is considered Chotovice’s most famous son to date.

The Čapí educational trail in the Franz Hantschel Forest Park offers a walk through nature focusing on storks and the surrounding environment.

Trails

The Skalická cycling circuit passes through Chotovice. The “From Nový Bor to Sloup” hiking route also passes through Chotovice and extends to Chotovice. Along the way, it offers insights into the preserved traditional folk architecture of Lusatia.

The competition card for the Čapí educational trail is available at the Chotovická hospůdka u Lázní from Wednesday to Sunday from 2 p.m.

Event

The Myslivecké letnice event is scheduled to take place on 28 August 2026 from 2 p.m. at the Chotovická hospůdka and in the adjacent Franz Hantschel Forest Park.
