Radvanec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Radvanec, the Crucifixion relief is carved into a sandstone block and forms part of the Baroque folk religious tradition depicting the suffering of Christ.

Culture and History

Radvanec lies along the old trade route to Zittau; the original name of the village was Rodowitz. The first Radvanec Calvary is a polychrome sandstone relief beside a half-timbered house on the stream; its painted decoration dates from the Baroque period. The chapel in Radvanec is a small brick-built chapel in Baroque forms and probably dates from the late 18th century. A second rock relief of Christ is located immediately behind Radvanec, on a slope beside the former road. The cultural-historical route “Along the Žitava Road in Search of Radvanec’s History” was designed with 14 stations and a summary information panel.

Hiking and Cycling

Blue- and green-marked hiking trails of the KČT lead through Radvanec. The Radvanec–Nový Bor cycle path opened on November 6, 2023. A route from the brewery in Cvikov to the Lípák brewery in Česká Lípa follows the blue-marked hiking trail through Radvanec. The Radvanecký turistický okruh is designated as a local tourist loop trail.

Water

The Radvanecký rybník pond, with a bathing area and campsite, is located in the cadastral area of the municipality of Radvanec; it is accessible from Sloup v Čechách. An artificial water reservoir near the Havraní skály serves as an outdoor swimming pool in summer.
