Nature

The Kačerov Nature Reserve in the municipality of Zdobnice protects wet meadows, transitional mires, springs and mountain meadows that are home to rare and endangered species. The nature reserve is freely accessible to visitors; however, entering the mire and spring areas is not recommended.

The Pod Zakletým protected area preserves the habitat of the critically endangered and protected common butterwort (Pinguicula vulgaris). The U Kunštátské kaple Natural Monument protects a ridge mire with remarkable flora in the Orlické Mountains. U Kunštátské kaple can be viewed from the red-marked ridge trail without entering the protected area.

Culture and History

The Church of the Good Shepherd in Zdobnice was consecrated in 1789. The Kunštátská Chapel, also called the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, was built in Zdobnice in 1671. The Chapel of Saint Anne in Zdobnice was built in 1838.

The Chapel of Saint Anne offers a view over the entire Zdobnice Valley. A strong spring rises near the former Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Malá Zdobnice, and its water is reputed to have healing properties.

Cycling and Hiking

Singletrack Zdobnice is a network of more than 10 kilometres of one-way mountain bike trails. The main entrance is located at the fire reservoir in Zdobnice. At the entrance to Singletrack Zdobnice, there is a practice trail, a pump track, a bicycle service station and a charging station for electric bicycles.

Zdobnice offers suitable conditions for hiking and cycling. The landscape around Zdobnice also invites visitors to go for walks and collect mushrooms outside the main season. Different activity types and trail lengths help with planning the day between short walks, cycling trips and longer outings.

Winter Sports

At Ski Centrum Zdobnice, evening skiing is regularly offered on the main slope. A cross-country skiing loop runs directly through Zdobnice. A point approximately 200 metres above the Zdobnice church on a yellow-marked hiking trail is considered a suitable starting point for the cross-country skiing loop.

Ski Centrum Zdobnice has a 100-metre-long slope with a moderate gradient and a rope tow, making it suitable for learning the basics of skiing and snowboarding. Thus, during the cold season, cross-country skiing, evening skiing and the basics of skiing and snowboarding are all available in the village.
