Townscape and History
Olešnice has been documented in historical records since 1407. Several traditional Podorlicko farmsteads and cottages have been preserved in the village. In the 19th century, Olešnice was also called Volešnice. Farmstead No. 54 is designated in Olešnice as an object of local significance.
Culture
Several small sacred monuments have been preserved in Olešnice. A small chapel stands at the crossroads leading towards Rašovice and Hřibiny. A restored crucifix monument stands in front of House No. 31. It dates from 1876 and was erected at the expense of the Bartoš couple.
Landscape
The valley of the Olešnický potok is broad and bordered semi-openly on its western and eastern sides by slopes that are partly wooded and partly covered with arable land. The landscape of Olešnice comprises arable land, permanent grassland, bodies of water, as well as natural forests and groves.
Settlement Area
The built-up area of Olešnice lies in the valley floodplain of the Olešnický potok stream. Road III/3209 forms the settlement axis along the valley floodplain. Olešnice lies in the foothills of the Orlické hory mountain range.
