History and culture
Hubálov was first mentioned in 1373. The place name Hubálov is probably derived from the name “Hubálův dvůr”. Hubálov and Tuř share a common history spanning around half a millennium.
There is a statue of Saint Wenceslas in Hubálov. In 2008, a new suitable location was found in the centre of the village for the wooden bell tower. At the Knihovna U zvoničky, younger and older readers meet by prior arrangement either every Friday or every two weeks; it also houses a lending library.
The municipality of Tuř, to which Hubálov belongs, holds a children's day every year. At a meeting of the Hubálov local committee in November 2024, the traditional switching-on of the Christmas lights was listed as an activity.
In Jičín there is the Jezuitská kolej, an extensive Jesuit building complex near the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Access is currently possible only on individual open days.
