Sedliště: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Sedliště belonged to the Starohradské estate, whose centre was the Stará fortress, located one kilometre away. During the reign of Charles IV, it was converted into a Gothic castle and around 1573 into a Renaissance chateau.

Culture and History

About 200 m to the north, in the direction of the municipality of Hřmenín, lies the preserved Sedliště/Hřmenín hillfort of the Urnfield culture from the Late or Final Bronze Age.

Sedlišťský dolní mlýn is a mill with a sawmill, reportedly dating from the 16th century. It was rebuilt in 1933, and some of its equipment has been preserved. Janďourkův mlýn is located on the Libáňský potok stream near Sedliště and can be visited by prior arrangement. The originals can be seen in the exhibition at Staré Hrady Chateau.

Landscape

The Střelečská hůra and Přivýšina hills are located in the surroundings of Sedliště. In the wider regional area around Sedliště are Valdštejn Church, Tábor Hill and U Borku Hill [Záhornice u Městce Králové].

Activities and Nature

Sedliště can be reached via the red-marked hiking trail from Libáň and Staré Hrady towards Nadslav.

Obora u Sedliště lies between Sedliště, Staré Hrady and Libáň. The valley of the Bukovina stream lies between Zelenecká Lhota and Sedliště.
