Dobrá Voda U Hořic: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The area around Dobrá Voda u Hořic is one of the region’s richest archaeological sites. A Celtic burial ground in the cadastral area of Dolní Dobrá Voda has been gradually excavated in the brickworks area northeast of House No. 36 since 1897.

History and Culture

The first written mention of Dobrá Voda dates from 1395 and uses the historical form “Dobrewodye”. Hovnivára was a local shepherds’ festival in Dobrá Voda, celebrated on Whit Monday. The Lázně church is located in the wider regional surroundings of Dobrá Voda u Hořic.

Water and Landscape

The Dobrovodský pond was created in 1953. Today, the municipality operates a sport fishing pond at Dobrovodský pond. The Polabí plain begins south of Dobrá Voda u Hořic; geologically, this area is classified as the Cidlinská tabule plateau. The Bašnický les protected area lies southeast of Dobrá Voda u Hořic.

Mount Maxinec (MLázovický chlum) is located in the surroundings of Dobrá Voda u Hořic. The nearby area also includes Švehlův vrch hill (Dobrá Voda u Hořic–Horní Dobrá Voda), Na Rybníku hill (Bašnice), and Kloboučky hill (Lískovice u Ostroměře).

Bus and Train

Regular bus services run through Dobrá Voda u Hořic towards Jičín and Nový Bydžov. Dobrá Voda u Hořic has a railway station on the Hradec Králové–Jičín (Turnov) route.
