Bukovina u Pecky lies almost on the ridge of Kamenná hůra at an altitude of approximately 500 m.

Landscape

A forest belt of Kamenná hůra stretches along the village from west to south and slopes down towards the Bělohrad Basin. The Kamenná hůra Nature Reserve lies on the southwestern slope of Kulatý vrch, which forms part of a ridge descending from Bukovina u Pecky towards the Javorka valley near Dolní Javoří.

Paths and Surroundings

A blue-marked hiking trail leads through Bukovina u Pecky. The village is approximately 1,500 m from Krkonošská vyhlídka; the route follows a field path along a blue-marked hiking trail. In the surroundings of Bukovina u Pecky lies the 532-m-high Krkonošská vyhlídka, which can be reached from Pecka via a blue-marked trail as a 5-km circular route.

Cycle Route No. 4141 leads from Arnoštov (from Borovnice) through Bukovina u Pecky, continuing via Tetín to Vidonice.

History and Culture

A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, erected in 1734, stands in the village square of Bukovina u Pecky. Bukovina u Pecky is mentioned in written records as early as the late 13th century. The father of the teacher and writer K. V. Rais was born in Bukovina u Pecky and spent his youth there in House No. 12.

Near Hrádek, between Vřesník and Bukovina u Pecky, a ditch carved into the rock that has survived to this day marks a former circular fortified settlement. The path runs through Kamenná hůra along the historic Horská cesta. The historic Horská cesta through Bukovina u Pecky is associated with the departure from Pecka Castle on 23 February 1621 of the arrested Kryštof Harant z Polžic a Bezdružic, accompanied by mercenaries.

Geographical Location

The access road to Bukovina u Pecky branches off from the road leading from Pecka via Vřesník to Tetín. The paved asphalt road continues through the village to Arnoštov, Horní Javoří and Bělá u Pecky.
