Chomutice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Chomutice, architectural and settlement history meet a protected natural area. The present-day Church of St. Diviše was built in 1782 as a replacement for a wooden church that was more than 300 years old.

History and Culture

The Church of St. Diviše is a single-nave, oriented building with a projecting prismatic tower and a three-sided apse. The older local history includes fortified manors originally accompanied by farmsteads; settlements formed around them in the 14th century.

Natural Area

The protected natural monument Javorka a Cidlina - Sběř encompasses the cadastral areas of Chomutice and Obora u Chomutic. The protected area safeguards populations of the thick-shelled river mussel and the scarce large blue butterfly, as well as flowing-water habitats and adjacent meadow habitats.

Mount Maxinec (Mlázovický chlum) is located in the immediate surroundings of Chomutice. The Březinka hill [Chomutice-Obora] is also located in the immediate surroundings. Events

At the Christmas tree lighting held in Chomutice on 23 November 2024, a nativity scene exhibition was part of the programme. At the same event, seasonal food and drinks such as honey, wine, young wine, chocolate, Christmas pastries, live fish and meat dishes were sold.
