Parezska Lhota: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Pařezská Lhota lies north of the Prachov Rocks in a hilly landscape near the ruins of Pařez Castle.

Nature

The Prachov Rocks are a nature reserve within the Český ráj Protected Landscape Area. Pařezská Lhota is also part of the cadastral area of the Prachov Rocks. The geological profile of the Prachov Rocks can be clearly observed in the Císařská chodba.

Culture and history

The ruins of Pařez Castle lie on an isolated sandstone formation at the northwestern edge of the Prachov Rocks; access was through a rock fissure. The surviving Pařez castle complex includes masonry fortification walls, a square tower, a palace and chambers carved into the rock.

The archaeological site of the fortified hilltop settlement of Prachov also includes the cadastral area of Pařezská Lhota, where prehistoric burial sites as well as ramparts and burial mounds have been documented.

Activities

The Pařezská Lhota climbing area is located in the forest on the right-hand side of the road from Pařezská Lhota to Střeleč. Climbing in the Pařezská Lhota area is seasonally permitted from 1 April to 31 October; individual rocks are subject to exceptions.

Getting around

The Jičín–Trosky cycling route runs through Pařezská Lhota. The Leknínová cycling route also runs through Pařezská Lhota and to its water lily ponds.

From 30 April to 30 September, a tourist bicycle bus can be used on the Jičín – Holín – Prachov Rocks – Pařezská Lhota – Mladějov – Sobotka – Podkost route. At the “Holín, Pařezská Lhota, penzion” stop, it is possible to change between the two lines.
