Bílsko u Hořic lies 2 km west of Hořice, at the southern foot of Hořický chlum. The village was first mentioned in 1386; at that time, Zdislav from Bílsko lived there.

History

Bílsko Castle or fortress fell into disrepair after 1621 and is no longer mentioned in later sources. The statue of the Holy Trinity in Bílsko u Hořic dates from 1855 and was restored in 1906. Also located in Bílsko u Hořic is the Stéla s reliéfem Nejsvětější Trojice, a sandstone stele with a relief, created by a regional artist in the more folk-oriented style of the mid-19th century.

Culture

The Ochotnický spolek Blsko was founded to mark the 100th anniversary of the first theatrical performance in Bílsko. Every year, the Ochotnický spolek Blsko is intended to prepare a fairy-tale play and a farce, which are then performed in the village barn. The Sjezd rodáků a přátel obce in Bílsko has been held regularly every five years since 2006; only once was it postponed by one year because of COVID measures.
