Sukorady: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Sukorady has a distinctive historical landmark in the clearly visible remains of the former Vysoká fortress: today, they are called Pustý hrad. The former fortress stood in the forest south of Sukorady and was surrounded by a moat.

Culture and History

Historical and cultural references have also been preserved within the village itself. Sukorady has a cemetery cross featuring a depiction of Jesus Christ dating from 1839. The first documented performance by the amateur theatre group in Sukorady dates back to 1887.

Nature

The Králický potok stream flows through the southern part of Sukorady and feeds the Temník pond west of Sukorady. Forests cover 55 % of the cadastral area of Sukorady.

At the northern edge of the municipality, the functional regional biocentre RBC 989 Bašnický a Lískovický les extends into the planning area of Sukorady. The functional local biocentre Za Kouty includes a small pond and a meadow south of the settlement of Kouty. The functional local biocentre Myštěvák includes a small pond and predominantly deciduous forest stands.

Mount Maxinec (MLázovický chlum) is located in the vicinity of Sukorady. The immediate surroundings of Sukorady also include the Na Rybníku hill [Bašnice], the Pařez hill [Sukorady u Hořic], and the Kloboučky hill [Lískovice u Ostroměře]. The Church of Svatý Jiří is located in the wider regional surroundings of Sukorady.
