Pěčín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Pěčín is a place whose houses are predominantly situated in the valley of the Pěčínský potok stream, while the development on the valley slopes becomes more loosely distributed in individual locations. This brings together a clearly recognizable valley structure and individual points of landscape, cultural and historical significance.

Landscape and Nature

A panorama of the stream’s and the Zdobnice’s deep, wooded valley can be seen from the road near house no. 15. Okresní skála offers a view of the central part of Pěčín with its school and church. Velká Suchá is located near Pěčín as a mountain; the surrounding area also includes Sieniec, Dębosz and Jagodna, each classified as a mountain.

In the area around Pěčín, the zone of the Orlické hory Protected Landscape Area includes contiguous arable land and orchards.

Culture and History

The Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist was built in 1727–1729 as a single-nave structure with a tower on the western façade by the builder Jan Kumper, who came from Hradec Králové. This oriented, single-nave, plastered masonry building has a rectangular nave, a presbytery closed on three sides and a four-storey square tower in front of the western façade.

The ruins of Pěčín Castle are considered an important archaeological site. The wider regional surroundings of Pěčín also include Gorzanów - Pałac, a castle.

Cycling Connections

The Litice–Orlické Záhoří cycle route is 38.5 km long and classified as challenging. The marked cycle route 4075 from Litice to Orlické Záhoří runs via the junction designated as “Pěčín, rozc.”
