Lukavice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Lukavice lies within the catchment areas of the Kněžná and Lukavický potok rivers. The natural beauty of the Kněžná catchment area near Lukavice invites visitors to enjoy tourism and walks. At the same time, the town combines prominent reminders of its history with distinctive landscapes.

Culture and History

Lukavice’s most significant cultural monument is the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, built in 1783. A listed crucifix stands beside the entrance gate to the church grounds. In the upper part of Lukavice, a cross dating from 1799 also commemorates the town’s religious heritage.

In the town centre stands a monument to those who fell in the First World War. Another historic landmark is the Lukavice school, dating from 1888. The cultural life of the town also includes the regularly held Setkání rodáků a přátel Lukavice, a cultural event with an almost 20-year tradition.

A traditional pilgrimage in Lukavice was also announced for the period from 14 to 16 August 2026.

Nature and Landscape

Opukový lom Lukavice is a significant landscape area in the municipality. It is home to thermophilous herbaceous and shrub plant communities; Opukový lom Lukavice also includes a hillside meadow with protected plant species.

In Uhřínov-Benátky, moist, unfertilised meadows have been preserved in the Kněžná valley, supporting the rare large blue butterfly. Visitors to Uhřínov-Benátky should remain on the paths and not enter the flowering meadows.

Hiking and Trails

A 22 km round-trip hike leads from Lukavice via the Uhřínov-Benátky natural monument landscape and the Podolí-býv. osada signpost to the source of the Kněžná. The route is marked with green and yellow hiking signs.
