Culture at the castle

Kvasiny Castle houses a historical exhibition on the history of the Janeček family and JAWA. A permanent exhibition is dedicated to dolls, puppet theatres and home theatres. The Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua features illusionistic wall paintings and historic organs.

Landscape and water

Kvasiny is located in the valley of the Bělá River. Road II/321 from Častolovice to Deštné passes through the built-up area of the village.

The castle and park complex is situated on a terrace and on a slope above the left bank of the Bělá. The castle park contains a pond and a wooden hut.

The Dlouhá strouha canal, which runs through Kvasiny, begins there at the Bělá, runs along the northwestern edge of the municipality and is built from large stones. As a historic waterworks, the Dlouhá strouha once powered the mills of Solnice. A preserved stone bridge crosses the Bělá in Kvasiny.

Events and traditions

The Zámecká neděle s auto-moto veterány event is held regularly at Kvasiny Castle; for 2026, the 13th edition featuring JAWA motorcycles and other historic vehicles was announced. Since 2018, the Půtovy zámecké slavnosti have been held in the castle grounds of Kvasiny; the ninth edition is scheduled for 2026. The programme includes a medieval battle, a knight tournament, a falconry display, a puppet theatre and an acrobatic fire show.

The annual Evening Fairy-Tale Forest takes place in the castle park of Kvasiny and offers children fairy-tale characters, games and tasks. Children's Day in Kvasiny includes a walk through a fairy-tale forest. A summer volleyball tournament is also traditionally held on the first weekend of July. A pilgrimage to Saint Anthony is one of Kvasiny's cultural and social traditions.

The Kvasinská pouť was held from 12 to 14 June 2026 at the Kvasiny Cultural Centre.
