Zahořany: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In the upper part of Zahořany, you can start and finish two cycle routes at the monument to those who fell in the First World War: the Modrý okruh – Po stopách minulosti and the Zelený okruh. There is a rest area and a drinking fountain at the same monument. The Zelený okruh is consistently marked with green tourist cycle-route signs.

Places and activities

Zahořanský rybník was completely revitalised in 2018–2019. In 2025, fishing there was permitted exclusively on a catch-and-release basis; every fish caught had to be returned to the water immediately. Also in 2025, fishing was permitted only from the dam and from the right or left bank, while fishing from the beach and at the inflow was prohibited.

The Zahořanská 10, held in 2025, featured a 10.2 km forest route with 250 metres of elevation gain. Teqball is also one of the specifically mentioned activities: it can be played by two or four players. Hostinec U Pepíčka has a summer garden with a children's playground.

Culture

The Chapel of St Ludmila was consecrated in Zahořany. It is said to have been built around 1921 by local settlers.
