Psáry: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The walled complex of the Church of St. Wenceslas is located on the road between Psáry and Jesenice; the church is a cultural monument dating from the 12th century. The Záhořanský Stream rises in the northern part of Psáry, along which a hiking trail runs.
Nature and Landscape
Psáry lies on the northwestern edge of the Benešov Uplands. In connection with this landscape, parts of the Hornopožárské Forests and the Central Bohemian Nature Park are mentioned.
History and Culture
The first written record of Psáry dates from 1088. The first fortress of Psáry is associated with the estate of the Karlov College. The second fortress of Psáry is first mentioned in a purchase agreement from 1573; it fell into disrepair during the Thirty Years' War and was not rebuilt afterward.
The local primary school dates from 1693. In Dolní Jirčany, the Svatováclavské posvícení is held as a traditional festival with stalls, fair food, workshops, and entertainment for children. It includes a knight tournament and a puppet theatre.
Trails and Activities
From Psáry, an approximately 10 km-long hiking and cycling tour leads through the surrounding area. The tour is an easy activity for families with children.
Bus Connections
Bus route 334 runs from Smíchovské nádraží railway station to Psáry and back. Bus route 332 operates between Budějovická and Krhanice or Prosečnice and back.
