Nature and Educational Trail

The educational trail Povltavská stezka – Naučná stezka Svatojánské proudy begins in Štěchovice and ends in Nové Třebenice. The Svatojánské proudy educational trail is 7 km long and comprises 12 stops. Its subject matter covers botany, zoology and ecology. Some sections run along a steep slope and the trail is intended exclusively for pedestrians.

Church and Tower Museum

The parish church of St John of Nepomuk in Štěchovice was newly built and consecrated on 23 October 1915. It stands on a hill; its tiered roof resembles the surrounding hills on the horizon. The church’s architecture combines motifs from Art Nouveau, antiquity, Byzantine, Romanesque and Renaissance architecture. Since August 2020, the Tower Museum in the church has been open to the public. It presents an exhibition about life in the parish.

Hydroelectric Power and Technology

The visitor centre at the Štěchovice hydroelectric power station offers free guided tours by prior arrangement. The tours include the Štěchovice I turbine hall and the outdoor switchyard with its transformers. The Štěchovice Dam was built between 1937 and 1945 and is clad in granite.

You can reach Štěchovice by car via road II/102, by bus and, during the holiday season, also seasonally by boat.
