Choteč: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the centre of Choteč stands the Zemědělský dvůr, a large traditional Baroque manor farm. The complex preserves the remains of a fortress, including a tower now used as a cellar and an enclosing wall that reuses a medieval fortification. Hradiště Na zámkách also features fortification remains of uncertain age, with a rampart and a moat.

Culture and History

The early Baroque Church of St Catherine stands on a hill in Choteč and offers views of the surrounding area. Its two unusually low towers define the building. In the lower storey of the northern tower is a chapel dedicated to St John of Nepomuk with a cloister vault.

On the village square in Choteč stands a statue of St Catherine and St John of Nepomuk dating from 1764. Another historic building is Mlýn U Veselých. The mill has complete milling equipment from the first half of the 20th century, features rusticated Baroque-style gables, and is a historic and architectural monument.

Karlštejn Castle and Letohrádek královny Anny are located in the vicinity of Choteč. The Palác Kinských and The Golz-Kinsky Palace are also located in the surrounding area.

Landscape

Near Choteč, the Radotínský potok has carved a deep riverbed into the landscape. The surrounding area of Choteč also includes Mount Doutnáč, Veslařský ostrov Island, Slovanský ostrov Island, and Střelecký ostrov Island.

Cycling

Route 8100, “Pražské kolo”, is a 131-kilometre circular route around Prague. It runs mostly along roads with low to moderate traffic and partly along dedicated cycle paths.
