Dobřichovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Dobřichovice extends along both banks of the Berounka and combines the river landscape with distinctive scenery, viewpoints, and cultural events. The town lies on a major railway line and has regular electric commuter rail connections to Prague.

River and Trails

A footbridge and cycle bridge crosses the Berounka about 1 km downstream from Dobřichovice’s road bridge. A developed cycle path with rest areas and signs runs along the left bank. The section between the château and the footbridge also serves as a promenade and an area for inline skaters. Dobřichovice is also located on the popular Prague–Karlštejn tourist route.

Nature and Viewpoints

The northern boundary of Dobřichovice and Karlík also forms the boundary of the Český kras Protected Landscape Area. In the broader landscape of the Český kras Protected Landscape Area, limestone cliffs, light deciduous forests, steppes, flowering rocks, and the canyon-like valley of the Berounka alternate.

The Hvíždinec viewpoint can be reached from Dobřichovice via a 270 m ascent. The Hvíždinec quartzite rock offers views of Řevnice, Třebaň, and the tower of Karlštejn. Another distinctive natural monument is the Svatojánská lípa: the legally protected memorial tree was planted in 1729 in front of the Knights of the Cross château.

Culture and Events

The Chapel of St. Jude Thaddeus is located in the west wing of Dobřichovice château. The château and its surroundings also serve as venues for recurring events. The Dobřichovice Wine Festival has been held annually since 2003 towards the end of the summer holidays. The “Cesta mramoru” sculpture symposium is held in Dobřichovice every odd-numbered year. The “Všechny chutě světa” food festival is also held annually at Dobřichovice château and in its surroundings.

By the Water

The Berounka is used by water sports enthusiasts and anglers. A campsite with snack facilities is located on the riverbank and offers facilities for water sports enthusiasts during the summer season.
