Řitka: Holiday apartments and houses

Řitka is closely linked to the history of Lata Brandisová: to date, she has been the only female winner of the Velká Pardubická and spent part of her life at Řitka Castle. Historical records of the village, a chapel on the village square, equestrian sports and the Hřebeny Nature Park, which begins in Řitka, come together to create a multifaceted picture of the place.

Culture and history

The history of Řitka can be traced back to written records from the Middle Ages. In 1387, the settlement was recorded as “villa Lhotka, dikta Rzitka”. By 1416 at the latest, the settlement was known as Řitka.

A chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk has stood on the village square since around the beginning of the 19th century. More recently, traditional services in honour of Saint John of Nepomuk have been held in the chapel in May.

The Muzeum Laty Brandis can be visited by prior telephone appointment. The stables and facilities of Jezdecký klub Norma can also be visited by prior appointment.

Nature and water

The Hřebeny Nature Park begins in Řitka. Rybník Řitka is also part of the village landscape: recreational fishing is open to the public at the pond. Its grassy banks provide convenient access right down to the water.

Connections and routes

Suburban bus routes 317, 321, 318 and 320 connect Řitka with Prague; they are operated by the transport company Martin Uher. From Prague, you can take a train to Dobřichovice railway station and then continue by bus 448.

The Pochod Pičín–Řitka is organised jointly by the municipalities of Řitka and Pičín, the town of Dobříš, TJ Sokol Dobříš and the municipality of Kytín.
