Velký Osek: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Osečka mineral spring was discovered in 1935. It is freely accessible in a small park on Husovo náměstí; it was completely renovated in 2025–2026.

Culture

In front of the Catholic church in Velký Osek stands the Calvary group made of red sandstone. The interior furnishings of the church were taken from a deconsecrated church in Bohnice. The construction of the Catholic church in Velký Osek was made possible and begun in 1934; the church was solemnly consecrated on 20 June.

Nature

The Libický luh National Nature Reserve was designated in the Kolín District with effect from 1 May 1985 and in the Nymburk District with effect from 1 June 1985.

Trails

Velký Osek has a České dráhy railway station on the Prague–Kolín–Hradec Králové line. From Velký Osek railway station, a yellow-marked hiking trail leads along a paved path to the red-marked Libice nad Cidlinou–Kolín hiking trail; both trails run through the Libický luh or through part of the reserve.

The marked trails through the Libický luh are suitable for cycling. The cycling tour through the Libický and Veltrubský luh can be combined with a train journey.
