Sudoměř: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Sudoměř combines archaeology, religious architecture and a railway museum. In the village and the wider surrounding region, various testimonies to history and landscape come together.

Culture

On the south side of the village square stands the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, a Baroque religious building protected as a cultural monument since 1967. Its Baroque main altar dates from around 1735 to 1740. In front of the church, on the village square, stands Sudoměř’s wooden bell tower. It consists of oak beams joined with wooden nails or wooden pegs instead of metal nails.

Archaeology

Hrádek u Sudoměře is an archaeological site on a long, narrow spur on the eastern side of the village. The archaeological area of Sudoměř is classified as a hilltop settlement, fortification and village. The Zadní Hrádek acropolis covers approximately 1.8 hectares and was fortified by a wide ditch and a massive rampart.

Railway
