Strašnov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
History and Remains of the Fortress
The first written mention of Strašnov dates back to 1297. Originally, there is said to have been a fortress in the forest near the village, which is said to have served as the seat of a military garrison; this garrison is said to have protected a nearby trade route. The remains of the former Strašnov fortress are still clearly visible in the terrain today as a rectangular platform with a ditch. An unmarked forest path leads to the remains of the fortress west of Strašnov. No marked hiking trail passes through Strašnov.
