Sojovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Jizera River flows through the cadastral area of Sojovice. The Černý Orel protected area also extends into this area, protecting the Jizera’s floodplain habitats with deciduous forests, floodplain meadows and grassland. The protected area is also home to the scarce large blue butterfly.

History

The Sojovice Bridge was opened on 5 December 1909 and was then one of the largest reinforced-concrete bridges in the Kingdom of Bohemia. It is 64 metres long; including the wing walls, its total length is 78 metres. A commemorative document bearing the signatures of the participants in the opening ceremony, including Archduke Karl, was sealed into the structure in a metal capsule. The former riverbed created during the construction of the bridge is still visible and is known locally as Stará Jizera.

The bell in the bell tower of Sojovice dates from 1533 and is still in use. The Sojovice war memorial was unveiled on 28 September 1924 and stands at the centre of the park landscaping on the village square. The names of nine local residents who fell in the First World War are engraved on the memorial.

Cycle route 0041 Káraný–Kochánky passes through Sojovice. A 2-hectare body of water in Sojovice belongs to fishing area 411 174 JIZERA 1 A. Fishing at the Sojovice body of water is permitted on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

A stop in Sojovice was established for regional bus route 315 from 14 December 2025.
