Strancice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Southeast of the center of Strančice, toward the cemetery, St. Anne's Chapel with a spring is located in the Jedlovec forest. The protected heritage complex comprises the chapel, the spring, and the enclosed plots of the site.

Culture

West of the village square lies the complex of the former Jewish synagogue. It consists of the synagogue and the adjacent rabbi's house.

In the northeast of Strančice, on the southern slope of Hůrka Hill, lies the garden of the Schnöbling Villa. The 7.8-hectare English landscape park was created according to a design by Otokar Fierlinger and is an important example of garden architecture from the first half of the 20th century. Franz Schnöbling's villa in Strančice was designed in 1929 in the style of late-classicist modernism by Prague architect and builder Tomáš Šašek.

History

The engineer Emil Kolben, who was born here, is also associated with Strančice. He was described as one of the most important founders of the electrical engineering industry in the Czech Republic.

The Emil Kolben educational trail leads through twelve significant places in Strančice and presents their history. The trail also includes interactive quiz questions.

Strančické záření is a multi-generational, multi-genre open-air music festival held annually in Strančice near Prague. The festival offers concerts, workshops, and visual arts activities.

Two annual festivals take place around the spring near St. Anne's Chapel in Strančice: Slavnost otvírání studánky is celebrated on the last Saturday in May, while Slavnost uspávání studánky takes place each year on a Friday around November 11.

Orientation

Strančice railway station is located on regional railway line 221 between Prague and Benešov u Prahy. Near the station there is a public parking garage or public car park, as well as a stop for scheduled buses.
