Úvaly: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Devět kanálů railway viaduct in Úvaly is 135 metres long and up to 13 metres high. A paved path leads under the viaduct, along the Výmola stream, and back to the other end of the square in Úvaly.

Culture

The Roman Catholic Church of Zvěstování Páně is part of the town’s history. It is a cultural monument and acquired its present Baroque appearance after renovations completed in 1724. The statue of Archbishop Arnošt z Pardubic stands on Arnošt-z-Pardubic Square; it was unveiled on 30 June 1869.

Southwest of Úvaly lies Skara, a castle ruin on a broad, spur-like hill above the Výmola stream. The site preserves a rampart-like remnant of the surrounding fortification and traces of a building with at least two rooms, probably a palace.

In the centre of Úvaly stands Prokůpkův mlýn, also known as Dolní mlýn or Sýkorův mlýn, just a few steps from the railway station.

Trails

The Městská stezka Úvaly begins at the railway station, crosses the square and continues into the countryside. The educational trail provides information about the history, notable buildings and places of Úvaly and its surroundings, and also leads to the Vinice observation tower.

The Vinice observation tower is about 650 metres from the square in Úvaly, with approximately 50 metres of elevation gain.
