Hlavenec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Hlavenec, the hunting lodge of Rudolf II, also known as Hubertus, stands at the highest point of Hlavenec and is visible from a distance. It had four turrets; their brick sections have survived to this day.

Culture and History

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary originated from a bell tower built in 1815. Its replacement bell, Marie-Anna, was consecrated in 1948.

The monument to those who fell in the First World War in Hlavenec was unveiled on 5 July 1930. It was created by the sculptor Emanuel Zentner, who came from Staré Boleslav.

The monument to Emperor Charles VI depicts Saint Hubert, hunting dogs and a stag with golden antlers. The inscription at the entrance gives 1723–1724 as the years of construction and names Matyáš Braun as the sculptor. The monument and the enclosed grounds are protected. The monument stands in a field approximately 0.3 km from the edge of Hlavenec.
