Vodochody: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Vodochody combines traces of history with protected landscapes and a settlement structure closely connected to its surroundings. Notable cultural landmarks include the Vodochody bell tower and the building at U Pošty 32, which is considered historically significant.

Culture and History

The Vodochody bell tower is one of the settlement’s significant cultural assets. The settlements of Vodochody and Hoštice, which have grown together, also retain a direct connection to the adjacent landscape shaped by agriculture and forestry. Another historical trace leads to Julius Grégr: the Czech politician and publicist, who was the owner of a mine at the time, initiated the construction of the local school in Vodochody.

Nature and Landscape

The Dolní Povltaví Nature Park extends into the administrative area of Vodochody. The Máslovická stráň Nature Reserve also extends into the municipality’s administrative area. It comprises rock outcrops and fragments of a rocky steppe with protected and endangered plant and animal species. Meadows and forest biotopes are also part of the Máslovická stráň Nature Reserve.

Cultural Attractions in the Surrounding Area

Several different attractions can be found in the vicinity of Vodochody: the Stará kanalizační čistírna Praha-Bubeneč Museum, Zámek Ostrov Castle, Letohrádek královny Anny Castle and the Galerie Rudolfinum Museum. The islands of Velké Benátky, Střelecký ostrov and Slovanský ostrov are also located in the surrounding area. Veslařský ostrov is located in the wider regional surroundings of Vodochody.
