Štíhlice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The first written mention of Štíhlice dates from 1358. The cadastral area contains the Lažany archaeological site, which is classified as a significant archaeological locality. It comprises the remains of a vanished medieval settlement with a stronghold and several farmsteads, and is located at the edge of the forest west of the road connecting Černokostelecká Street with Štíhlice.

History and Culture

The Lípa Svobody (Linden of Freedom) on the village square in Štíhlice was planted in November 1918. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is a new copy; the original statue was stolen. The Štíhlice bell stands on a hill in the centre of the village on the road to Kozojedy. The Štíhlice column bell dates from 1891 and was erected in place of an older wooden bell.

Nature

Three old lime trees in Štíhlice are considered a local natural attraction. Štíhlice provides access to the Dolánky forests; according to the municipality's description, they have a character similar to that of the Šumava region. The Šembera stream, which shapes the Dolánky forests, feeds a large part of the streams in Štíhlice.

Routes

The marked main cycling route No. 1 passes through the cadastral area of Štíhlice, first along Road II/113 from Mukařov to Štíhlice and then along Road III/11312 to Vyžlovka; it then continues to Jevany. In Štíhlice, cycling route No. 0089 branches off from this route and follows Road II/113 to Doubravčice. In addition, a marked red hiking route runs through the forested areas in the western part of the cadastral area of Štíhlice.

Events

The event “Dětský den s bojovkou” announced a children's day described as traditional, featuring a treasure hunt for children. A special programme for adults was also planned for the evening.
