Kozojedy is surrounded by forests on three sides. In the village centre there is a spring that is 3.5 metres deep. Between the forest, the village centre and the local ponds, a connection with nature, historical traces and events come together to form a tangible picture of the place.
Nature
The spring in the village centre of Kozojedy is 3.5 metres deep. The waters in the surrounding area include the Na Pastvinách and Pod Hotelem ponds, where the local angling club practises sport fishing.
History
About 1 kilometre from Kozojedy stands the Church of St Martin. It was originally a Romanesque building and was rebuilt in the 16th century. From the Church of St Martin, Na Starých Zámkách can be reached by following a stream after about a 15-minute walk; a Slavic hillfort once stood there.
Festivals and Flavours
During Masopust in Kozojedy, the evening continues after the procession at U Heřmanů with music and dancing. Another local tradition is the cauldron goulash competition: beef goulash is cooked in a cauldron suspended over a fire, and visitors are invited to sample the goulash.
Ponds and Events
Children’s fishing competitions were scheduled for 11 April 2026 at the Na Pastvinách pond by the kiosk in Kozojedy. The Noční rybářské závody at the Na Pastvinách pond were open to anglers and non-anglers from the evening of Friday, 2 August, until Saturday, 3 August 2024.
The 9th edition of the Kozojedský Gastrofest was announced for Saturday, 29 August, at the kiosk by the Na Pastvinách pond. At the Kozojedský Gastrofest, a traditional Lávka takes place across the pond.
On Site
Kozojedy is served by bus routes 381, 387, 660 and 959 as part of Prague’s Integrated Transport system. A football pitch is available in Kozojedy for recreational use.
