Počepice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The most important landmark in Počepice is the Church of St John the Baptist with its cemetery. The church dates back to the first half of the 14th century and was converted from the Gothic to the Baroque style in 1790. It thus combines two clearly recognizable periods of the town’s history in a single building.

Culture and History

The historic townscape also includes the vicarage in Počepice, which was built in 1775 by Ferdinand von Lobkowicz. The building houses the Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Počepice 29; it was consecrated on September 9, 2017. Another distinctive feature of the town’s history is the film Farářův konec, which was filmed in Počepice with Vlastimil Brodský in the lead role.

The village of U svatých is located on Road 105, about 1.3 km from the center of Počepice in the direction of Vysoký Chlumec. There you will find the U svatých statue group, featuring statues of Saint Prokop and Saint John of Nepomuk. The older Statue of St Prokop dates from the second quarter of the 18th century, while the Statue of St John Nepomuk was created after the middle of the 18th century.

Routes and Landscape

The Sedlčanská-Robinova hiking route to Prčice passes through Počepice. A Stations of the Cross trail begins near the Church of St John the Baptist in Počepice and leads up the southeastern slope of Radešín. The stone crosses along the route are decorated with pictures painted by children from a school in Sedlčany. The Stations of the Cross trail ends at Kalvárie and offers views of Počepice and the surrounding landscape.

Počepice is also connected to a signposted cycling route: the 6 km-long Cycle Route 8144 connects Veselíčko, Počepice and Skoupý and links Cycle Routes 8139 and 8143. It runs from Veselíčko via Skuhrov and Počepice as well as Vitín to Skoupý.

Počepice can be reached by bus from Milevsko or Sedlčany.
