Culture and History
The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Neustupov is protected as a cultural monument. The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk was built in 1852 at the upper corner of Neustupov’s market square.
Neustupov Jewish Cemetery is located 1 km northwest of the town, among fields. Around 200 gravestones and a reconstructed mortuary have been preserved there; the cemetery is freely accessible.
Neustupov Castle is a two-wing Renaissance building with an arcade in the entrance wing and a later-added polygonal corner tower. In the east wing, the ground floor, part of the first upper floor and several portals of the older fortress have been preserved. Remains of Renaissance sgraffito can be seen on the exterior façades. The entrance hall is part of the original Gothic fortress from the 12th century.
