Jungbunzlau: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Jungbunzlau combines automotive history with castle and urban history, aviation, and hands-on discoveries for children. Between former production buildings, historical exhibitions, and a short educational trail through the forest, a multifaceted picture of the town emerges.

Culture and History

The Škoda Museum was opened in 1995 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the automobile company in Mladá Boleslav, in former production buildings dating from 1899 to 1911. Tours of the Škoda production facilities in Mladá Boleslav are possible Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must be booked several days or even weeks in advance.

The Mladoboleslavsko Museum offers permanent and temporary exhibitions in the rooms of “Mladoboleslavský hrad” Castle. The origins of the castle date back to the second half of the 10th century and are connected with the establishment of a fortified settlement. One of the oldest surviving buildings in Mladá Boleslav is the Městský palác Templ, a rare example of a late Gothic urban aristocratic residence. It houses an archaeological museum exhibition; the permanent multimedia museum exhibition takes visitors through the history of the town from prehistoric times to 1600.

An exhibition on the history of the region at the Mladoboleslavsko Museum presents rural administration, social life and festive events, folk costumes, rural interiors, industry and transport, agricultural production, and various smaller urban and rural trades. The Parkán of the Městský palác Templ has been designed as an interactive playground where children can also try their hand at the work of archaeologists.

Aviation

The Metoděj Vlach Aviation Museum is dedicated to aviation from its beginnings to the present day. On display are 28 historic aircraft, including originals and replicas; 22 of them are fully operational and fly. The museum also offers two open-cockpit biplane simulators in which visitors can fly under the supervision of a pilot.

Nature

In the Štěpánka Forest Park in Mladá Boleslav, the Veverkov area features an educational trail designed for children. On a short walk, it leads to a total of ten stations made entirely of wood, focusing on squirrels and other inhabitants of the forest.
