Culture and History
The archaeological site “Na Husově” lies within the administrative area of the municipality of Krchleby. Near the municipality stands a Dutch-type windmill that is privately owned. It can be visited by prior telephone arrangement; original historical objects and an exhibition on traditional crafts can be seen there.
Landscape and Trails
Krchleby is probably a High Medieval green village with a semicircular village green surrounding the Klobuš stream. The Klobuš stream flows through Krchleby. A biocorridor with existing willow and alder growth along the banks runs alongside the stream.
The history of transport is also part of the village’s character: the historic road from Nymburk to Mladá Boleslav ran through Krchleby; today, road I/38 follows its route. The field paths in Krchleby are used for tourism and cycling in addition to agricultural purposes.
Routes and Events
Krchleby is connected to tourist routes linking visits to Loučeň Chateau with other nearby destinations.
Children’s Day is one of the traditional events in Krchleby. At the “Ukázky lidových řemesel” event, adults and children could try out handicrafts in 17 creative workshops. The event included demonstrations of basket weaving, spinning, weaving, pottery and other traditional crafts and was held for the tenth time.
